The 1977 classic Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas is a favorite holiday movie for many, including me. I have warm fuzzy memories of watching it when I was little and now my kids can sing along to “Ma’s Barbecue” and “Ain’t no hole in the washtub”. The Riverbottom Nightmare Band has nothing on Emmet’s sweet washtub bass jugband!
Now you can crochet your own little Ma Otter just in time for Christmas. Ma measures 11-11.5” tall, the perfect soft squishy size for hugging and carrying or just setting out for a super unique Christmas decoration.
You’ll need easy to find yarns (all listed in the pattern by brand) and supplies, and only very simple stitches are used. Plenty of photos will help you along the way. You’ll need to know how to crochet in the round (I use the adjustable ring method to start), and single crochet, half double crochet, etc.
